Next Wave has now opened, seeking to both continue and expand on the legacy started by Michael's Gems & Glasses. Michael's was established in 1990 as the first retail outlet of rocks and minerals on the Outer Banks, NC. Many had doubts of a successful gem store at the shore, but Michael's doors were open and thriving for over 20 years. Michael’s cemented itself as a pillar of Timbuck II, being loved by locals and tourists alike. At Next Wave we reminisce on the decades we visited and loved Michael's, and we're excited for the opportunity to carry the torch. We plan on adding to the collection of various natural, coastal, and handcrafted treasures, all while preserving the irreplaceable memory and practices Michael's Gems & Glasses built.
